I'm sick of people assuming that when someone tells the truth and doesn't sugarcoat things, that they are a bad person. Or when they lose their temper sometimes. No, it makes you human. Completely human. Nothing else. People hate hearing the truth, so they act ridiculous towards the people who speak it. Fear is ridiculously strong...

I've had people sugarcoat things to me my whole life, and it's only on very rare occasions that they are direct and straightforward, so I know from experience how much less pain the later causes. Yeah, it can cut quicker and cause people to get pissed off, but that is only because it brings out their fears. Humans are cowardly. Plain and simple. I have given up on sugar coating things as it never helps things, it makes them far worse. It leaves them to figure out the truth on their own (and to constantly wonder if it really is the truth) and realize that they keep getting nothing but half-truths and lies about almost everything. I get that people want to protect others from pain, but sometimes it hurts worse to sugar coat, lie and give half-truths. Or even to say nothing at all. I'm sorry if doing that offends you and makes you think I'm a bad person. I'm sorry if losing my temper on occasion, just like every single other person in this entire world does, and being direct hurts you. I'm sorry if my beliefs don't match yours. I'm sorry if I get irritable and pissed off when people assume things about my life when I hardly know that person and/or never talk to them anymore, especially when those people are clearly ignorant of certain things in my life. About my family, my beliefs, my personality. I can't change those things about me and I'm not looking to. I'm not changing for anyone but myself. I honestly wish I could just move out of this damn town and find a whole new life. A new, real home and family (family is not blood, it's who you choose, who chooses you and who is there for you no matter what). New friends, ones I actually feel I am close to. The only thing I'd bring are my things and my pets, who seem to be the only constants in my life and don't judge me for being me, for being human. Sometimes I really do think about just ending my life. I'm beginning to not care about much of anything. I really don't see anything worth living for anymore. My pets are literally the only things keeping me from doing that. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, very much so. But it doesn't feel like they want me in their life anymore. I feel like they would be better off. Hell, I think if I just disappeared and ended my life or just started over and broke connections to everyone, it would hardly make a dent in their lives, or mine. That idea is appealing to me more and more over time. Maybe not the ending my life bit, but the other part? Definitely. I don't seem to have anything left for myself in this life except my pets. No real home, family or even friends anymore. I just need to decide what to do with my life now. I may very well just cut ties and move on. Make new friends, find a real family, and a real home far from here, or as far as I can manage. I think I'm getting closer to deciding what I will do in the nearer future, and I think it may very well be better for me and everyone involved, or no longer involved, as it may be.

SPOILER ALERT!

I went with a few friends to see this movie and Fandango asked her to write a review and since there were five of us who went, she asked us all to write one. I did bullet form because I wasn't sure how else to and she said bullets were fine by her. So here are my opinions!

As a movie alone:
  • Definitely entertaining
  • Acting is very good
  • Script wasn't perfect but the actors utilized it to the best of their abilities
  • The pronunciation of Thalia's name (look below)
  • The actress who plays Annabeth, although a good actress, makes her character seem a bit... bland. Not too much personality.
  • The actress who played Clarisse was great. Funny and fell into the role very well.
  • Nathan Fillion as Hermes... Enough said. XD I'm not sure how better to explain that one honestly, outside of: He is probably the best fit out of all of the actors who played the characters they did.
  • The graphics for Rainbow were stunning! He looked so incredibly real! (though that's definitely having a lot to do with my biased towards horses. GO POSEIDON! ~cough~ Where was I?)
  • the UPS store: Wow huge! That was really amazing and definitely showed how much larger the place was on the inside than it appeared from outside.
  • I didn't care for the fact that Pierce Brosnan didn't play Chiron again this time, but Anthony Head did the role justice.
  • SOM also showed a bit more how Poseidon basically neglects Percy most of the time than was shown in the LT.
Comparison: (sorry, I'm not very good at reviewing movies on their own if they are based off a book I have read, so this'll have more to it and more criticism ^^')
  • I don't like how they used the Americanized version of Thalia's (Tah-lee-uh {which is usually spelled the same way, minus the 'h') name as opposed to the more common and original pronunciation (Thay-lee-uh OR Tha-lee-uh {I've heard either/or are correct. The 'h' is just normally spoken, at least as far as I have heard throughout my life.) since Thalia is the Demigod daughter of Zeus. (That part can also go towards the movie on it's own) Riordan has also said that she was named after the Greek Grace of the same name, hence her full name, Thalia Grace. So I'd assume, and I believe he has said himself, that he meant for her name to be pronounced in the original greek form of the Grace's name.
  • The part with Kronos: ... Awful. It just shouldn't have been in there. It went so far off from the book, it was ridiculous. Luke also never got the fleece in the books at all.
  • I wish they had added Circe to the movie, especially if they plan to go on to Heroes of Olympus someday.
  • Percy's sword was not supposed to be the cursed blade, and it wasn't Poseidon's, it had belonged to Heracles. (Or Hercules, I suppose. I've always been confused why Riordan used his Roman name)
  • The scene with Polyphemus was very well done. A bit odd how they got to his cave, but still good.
  • The... epilogue? (the part where Thalia was resurrected) was awesome. I really loved it. It definitely kept in par with the book a lot.
  • The effects and graphics were amazing and incredibly realistic and the makeup was definitely believable.
  • Outside of the different ages, the actors/actresses chosen were nearly perfect for the roles. Grover though, should be a skinny red-head with a straggly beard.
  • Spray-on mist: What? Very confusing and... just doesn't feel right.
  • I am ecstatic that they added George and Martha! At first I didn't think they would appear, but then they did and it was great. They were almost exactly as they are in the book: Funny, crazy, attention-wanting and argumentative.
  • The Princess Andromeda was actually supposed to be a cruise-ship, not a yacht, and so, was supposed to be much larger. Yachts are smaller and so incredibly difficult to sneak around on for even a few moments without being caught, as opposed to a cruise ship where it would be much easier and would probably have added a bit to that part of the story. They also skipped out on a lot of the monsters in that scene.
  • Silena should not have been mentioned or on the boat at all. It's really going to interfere with the whole 'spy in the camp' thing later on in the other movies, if they even decide to do that.
  • They were never swallowed by Charybdis in the book. That scene was odd, although still very well done and made up for not having the sirens or Scylla.
  • Grover was supposed to be afraid of Tyson. And Tyson was supposed to have met Percy at school, not camp.
  • This movie also stuck to the storyline and followed the book much more than the first.

RIP Reeses. One of the sweetest piggies in the world. ♥
05/25/2011-06/08/2013

My little boy had to be put down earlier today. Next to when Mandalay passed, I have never cried so much in my life. Thank god for Andrew. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't been able to be there... I love you sweetheart. You will never, not for a moment, be forgotten. I love you. Forever. I promise I will watch over Oscar and keep him company. He isn't alone. Give Mandalay a cuddle for me, sweet boy. Tell him I miss and love him deeply. As I do you.
